Authorize.Net
Authorize.Net was established in 1996,
in the Utah, by Jeff Knowles. Authorize.Net is a payment gateway examine/service supplier permitting to
the merchants to admit credit card and electronic check payments through their Web site and in excess of an IP (Internet Protocol)
connection/link.
In September 2004, Authorize. Net’s servers were knocked
by a Distributed
Denial of Service (DDoS) show
aggression. The DDoS show aggression/attack lasted for more one week and reason
a virtual shutdown of the payment gateway's service. The aggressor/attacker
insisted money from Authorize.net in replace for ending the attack.
On
July 2, 2009, 11pm, the total web communications for Authorize.net (central
website, merchant gateway website, etc.) went offline and stayed down the
entire morning July 3, 2009.
None
of the above 200,000 merchants who use Authorize.net payment gateway were capable
to procedure credit cards. Authorize. Net’s phone numbers were stopped July 3 since
of the July 4th holiday as formerly announced on their website (though the
website was downward at the time).
Other
companies that have close to offices have informed to the media that there was
a blaze. Authorize.net started a Twitter description that morning, but did not modernize
their phones to provide notice to clients until July 5 when they reopened telephones.
